The Blue Hour (2018)

"I give to you the sunset" is something my mother and I often say to each other as a way to keep connected, a reminder that we are both alive and looking at the simplicity and beauty of the sky. It is the moment after that lingers in me, what is not said but remains always present.

My mother’s attempted suicide a few years ago was a reminder of her vulnerability and the constant fragility of life. The Blue Hour is that lingering, vague feeling, after the sun is gone but before complete darkness. This project is a reflection of those silent in between moments often overlooked that add beauty to solitude.

what is the Blue Hour?

Installing a surveillance camera to observe this poetic hour, does it affect the nostalgia? does it affect my perspective on the memory?
